I can back this up with facts, but...what is the point? Proof will be in the pudding. This year. 124 days left until denial turns to anger. Maybe.
For denial to turn into something else, one must be capable and willing to accept new facts and Humans are notoriously bad at this part.
PS: A fundamental characteristic and parameter of those involved in the massive power shift happening is SPEED. Speed against the social apathy, denial, and lack of civic courage and responsibility. A laser-focused and fully funded plan against the plan of no-plan. What do we think the outcome will be? A miracle?
P.P.S: I am uncertain about what the possible solutions could be. I cannot see a quick path to slow this current process, let alone to stop it. We are being pushed toward inevitability by two forces - one natural and one man-made - and we sail into the storm without a crew, without working instruments, without visibility, and most dangerously - without a map. One path may emerge, but I am afraid the price will be a great suffering.
The "greatest" country in the world is populated by a nation who is confusing progress with comfort.
