Are we the problem?

Reducing the political chaos to the simplest possible forces at play.

Reducing the political chaos to the simplest possible forces at play.

We must wonder a bit, if we even remotely care about our present lives and the future of our children's lives, what is this chaos all about.

Money? Power? Both? And if so, what kind of money, what kind of power?

Somewhere in this mix, there are regular people. You, me, and almost everyone else who wake up every morning, try to live their daily life, then go to sleep, and then again.

As chaos unfolds, we should, theoretically, be aware of our place in the storm, and our role in the resulting effects of the actions triggered by those controlling the chaos. Because it sure is that it is not us creating the chaos.

So let's assume this is about money. We must then question how much money? And if there is no limit to the idea of profit, then there will never be enough money to satisfy those chasing such vast, virtually infinite fortunes.

Without a limit, money is no longer the object of the chase. No longer the reason for creating chaos. Money becomes the token with which a game is being played. In this case, the chaos IS the game. And us? We're pawns being played, nothing less, nothing more.

But is this chaos really akin to a board game where every player tries to outcompete the others? Is it played in teams? Or is it really just a single collective player, playing a game where chaos is strategy and money is tokens? If so, the entire chaos unleashed upon the world has a single, banal purpose: the thrill of playing the game.

The chase for money is the chase for more tokens so that more of the game can be played. Absurd as it seems, it might actually be the case. We might actually be dealing with a bunch of psychopaths for whom our lives, our destinies, are merely just guesswork or chaotic strategies with mass level consequences.

The players play for the thrill of playing. Because they can. Because the thrill is addictive.

So in a sense, that thrill - that's power. Ultimately, if there is no end game for how much money it's enough money, then the entire global civilization is just a source of dopamine for a few psychopaths while our individual struggles are practically inconsequential.

What's more important is that if money are mere tokens in a game meant to basically satisfy an addiction to the thrill of playing, the game WILL NEVER CHANGE. The players will do everything they can to ensure the game continues unaffected.

No matter what, the game must go on.

The other option is that this chaos is about Power. Not the dopamine sort of power, but the serotonin kind, the kind that fuels the "god complex". The kind of power that yields a sense of ultimate and unrestricted control over everything, the kind of power that can equally and even indiscriminately be used to destroy or create.

God-like power.

Not a game, but the ultimate state and purpose for existing - to control and design reality in the image of those wielding such power.

To these people, these absurd aberrations of nature, our lives are also inconsequential. Useful but also useless.

In this case, the world is split between those with access to power, and those struggling to give meaning to their lives, so that they can have their own sense of control over their destiny. This category gives way to a sub-category of individuals asserting their perception of power as a means to expanding it. These people operate on the basis that overpowering everyone around them is the only way to preserve their own sense of meaning and worth.

These individuals never reach the god-like status, but often manifest it on a micro scale, such as their family or work environment. They are the most ardent supporters of the global level god-like aberrations because they identify with the elite storyline even if they never ascend to elite status.

Ultimately, we could in fact recognize that our entire existence as human beings is a messed up cocktail of hormones, and that civilization as a hierarchical system is under the control of a handful of dysfunctional and unnatural individuals acting directly in a manner that satisfies their need of overdosing daily on dopamine and serotonin.

It appears that if we really insisted on simplifying the chaos we are witnessing, all we needed was a shrink - and eventually some heavy medication.

Just imagine how many lives could have been saved just by slipping Hitler a cocktail of SSRIs, Antipsychotics, and a dash of Lithium!
